Women leaders inspire Westbury High School students

Westbury High School’s World Language Department buzzed with excitement as a dynamic group of female leaders shared their insights and experiences during an all-day motivational conference. This special author visit, organized by educator and cultural programmer Adriana Devers, featured a diverse group of local and international leaders from various fields.

Author and college enrollment specialist Sasha Quintanilla kicked off the session with a message of empowerment. Joining Quintanilla was an impressive lineup of influential speakers, including Melissa Figueroa and Estephanie Ruiz from the Nassau County Office of Hispanic Affairs and life coach Lexy Corrales, who shared a powerful story about mental health.

The panel also included Luisa Roman, executive director of The Knowledge Project; Elvia Sanchez, a finance specialist visiting from Mexico; journalist and entrepreneur Deyanira Martinez; renowned hairstylist Minerva Alcantara; and Milian Reyes, producer of the podcast MusicaPress TV, who traveled from the Dominican Republic as a cultural programmer.

Lastly, Diana Cardenas closed the event with an uplifting message, reassuring Westbury High School students that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

The engaging discussion encouraged students to pursue their dreams with dedication, faith, and authenticity, emphasizing the importance of staying connected to their heritage and giving back to the community. All the speakers recognized the value of serving others and being productive members of society.

The event left Westbury High School students feeling motivated and inspired to carve their paths to success, highlighting the significance of community support and female empowerment.
